Important Facts about the Junior Fair Livestock Project/Campaign

  • Featured building is 22,000 square feet and will replace five very tired livestock buildings that also include show and auction rings
  • If our $800,000 fundraising goal is achieved, the Hubbard Building will be heated and air-conditioned for year round usage
  • The Portage County Randolph Agricultural Society has pledged $100,000 to this effort
  • The Portage County Randolph Fair Board of Directors (21) have all pledged as individuals
  • Annual fair attendance exceeds 150,000
  • Over $500,000 is raised annually for education at the Junior Fair livestock sale
  • Approximately 1,000 Portage County youth participate in 4-H and FFA programs
  • Your Fair Board and The Portage Foundation believe in a 100% transparent development and building process
  • The Portage County Agricultural Society dba the Portage County Randolph Fair, owns all 150+ acres and all buildings on the fairgrounds
  • Tax deductible gift can be paid over a five-year period
  • A sub-committee of the Portage County Randolph Fair Long Range Planning Committee, the Livestock Complex Committee, is running the campaign
  • Deferred/Estate gifts are welcome along with gifts of land, stock, life insurance
  • Gifts of grain, corn, and soy beans can be made and are tax friendly
  • All gifts are important, appreciated and essential
  • If our $800,000 goal is achieved, the removal of five buildings and the construction of one 22,000 square-foot building will begin following the 2018 Fair
  • County-wide participation is anticipated from the agricultural community, the business community, foundations, individuals, and friends of the fair as well as 4-H alumni
